Only 12 spots are released for each gathering.
These walks typically sell out.

This is not a ghost tour.
This is a two-hour walk among the dead.

History sounds different when you’re standing on top of it.
And that’s exactly what this walk is about.

About the Location Name

Each cemetery used for Sippin’ In A Cemetery is given a code name.
The real location is shared only with confirmed ticket holders.
Returning guests will recognize the ground.

Carved headstones. Old island names. Symbols most people pass without seeing.
Stories that only reveal themselves when you stand where they happened.

These gatherings are intentionally small. The dead deserve quiet.

A 13th presence always joins us.

What Happens During the Walk

We gather with a welcome and a first pour if you’d like one.

Bring a glass.
Bring a mug.
Bring a drink if you’d like.

I’ll have a bottle open as well.

Then we begin moving slowly through the ground.

Along the way I tell the stories tied to this place. The land, the symbolism carved into the stones, the people buried here, and the island that grew up around them. The same island my ancestors have called home since 1649.

Some of the stories are old island history.
Some are personal.
Some are dark.

Most have never been spoken outside a kitchen table or front porch.

It’s not about the alcohol.
It’s about the ritual.

We end where we began, with a final toast to the dead and the ground beneath us.

Your Ticket Includes

  • A two-hour guided storytelling walk with J. Coursey Willis
  • Optional wine pours depending on your ticket tier
  • The option to BYOB
  • Entry into a historic Kent Island burial ground whose location is shared only with confirmed guests
  • A portion of proceeds supporting Historic Kent Island Inc.

These walks aren’t for spectacle. They’re for people who understand that history deserves quiet.

We’ll raise a glass to memory, to life, and to the ground beneath your feet.
